What is the Basic Leadership Program and how long does it run?
The Basic Leadership Program is LLA’s flagship offering, a structured eight module curriculum covering personal leadership, interpersonal and team leadership, entrepreneurship, career development, financial management, health management, digital literacy, and family systems leadership. It runs over a defined cohort period of approximately 6 to 8 weeks, with weekly live sessions per module on Zoom, supported by written materials and structured assessments. Students who complete all modules and assessments receive a formal Certificate of Completion from Leaven Leadership Academy.
Who is LLA built for?
LLA’s Basic Leadership Program is designed for young Africans who are serious about personal growth and ready to do the work of transformation, regardless of their current career stage, educational background, or location. The typical cohort sits between the ages of 18 and 35, though there is no strict upper age limit for committed applicants, and it draws students, recent graduates, early career professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone seeking practical leadership and life skills. What matters most is that applicants are coachable, willing to be honest about their current state, and ready to take consistent, practical action.
How do I apply, and what happens after I submit?
The process runs in four steps. You complete a short application form indicating your goals and readiness for the programme, the LLA team reviews applications to ensure alignment with the programme’s intent and capacity, accepted applicants are enrolled into the next available cohort and given access to onboarding materials, and students then commit to full attendance and participation across the cohort period as a condition of receiving a Certificate of Completion.
How much time do I need to give every week?
One live session per module each week, on Zoom, for about 6 to 8 weeks. If you miss a session, you can catch up with the recording and written materials.
What do I get at the end of the programme?
A Certificate of Completion from Leaven Leadership Academy, once you finish all the modules and assessments. More than the certificate, you leave with clarity on your goals, your career, and your money, and a practical plan you can act on.
